Background and General Aspects
The Secretariat of International Relations at the University of El Salvador was founded in 1985 as the administrative unit responsible for managing International Cooperation. This unit came out of a political crisis that threatened not only the autonomy of the university, but also its survival. It emerged as an international representation that seeks not only international financial and technical cooperation but also international solidarity.
Since its creation, the Secretariat has undergone a series of changes that have been a direct result of planned processes of development.
Today, SRI is an important unit in both international relations and political relations at national level. In building relationships with various national and international agencies, we have understood its importance in order to obtain financial and technical cooperation.
The Secretariat should have the primary role to develop and coordinate all activities of international cooperation at UES, National and International level. |
